Leslie Yaneth Rodriguez's home and buisness were destroyed by hurricane Mitch in 1998. Eight years later she is back in buisness selling savory pastries in Zarabanda, Honduras, thanks to a microcredit loan from the Nueva Esperanza Foundation. The foundation was created by Rotary clubs in Honduras and North America. Constructing houses in Hounduras is a project which our club supports. The Monmouth-Independence Rotary Club sponsors the annual 4th of July Western Days Parade. While some get inoculated, other children gather at the polio booth to recieve flags, whistles and balloons, during an National Inoculation Day. With the help of the Rotary International Foundation, polio has been eradicated through most of the world.
